About Clint

Clint Johnson of Tahlequah is announcing his candidacy for United States Congress in Oklahoma's Second Congressional District.

Clint grew up in Vian and graduated from Vian High School. After graduation, Clint felt the need to serve his nation, so he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After years of honorable service in the Corp, Johnson returned home to eastern Oklahoma, settling down near Tahlequah, where he resides to this day.

However, Clint's desire to serve and protect did not end after leaving the Corp. In 1993, Clint joined the Cherokee County Sheriff's department as a deputy. Joining the Sheriff's office was the launching point for his decades-long career in law enforcement. As a C.L.E.E.T. certified officer, Clint diligently worked to ensure the safety of every citizen. Eventually, Clint would transfer to District Attorney's office. At the DA's Office, Clint led teams of officers as a Narcotic Agent securing the multi-county district from the illicit drug trades and human trafficking. Clint coordinated cross-agency operations with the U.S. Dept of Justice, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, County Sheriffs & Local police departments during this time.

During his years of local service, Clint received numerous accolated. Notable recognitions include the Oklahoma House of Representatives, the State Senate, United States Marshall's, the Department of Justice, and the Oklahoma Governor. After years of serving locally in Oklahoma, God called Clint to serve nationally.

Clint would receive exclusive training in Virginal from the U.S. Department of State on fighting international crime and building safe communities from the ground up. Upon completing the program, the State Department deployed to Iraq. There he worked to establish and rebuild police forces. During his time in Iraq, he would instruct thousands of Iraqi officers in Fallujah, Bagdad, and Mosul. He prepares these officers to secure their communities from terrorist groups like Al Quade and the Islamic State. These Officers would become the first line of defense in protecting Iraq and the world when following the rise of ISIS.

After years of serving America, Clint returns to his beloved Oklahoma Ranch across the globe. However, soon after returning home, Clint realized that America Promise he had fought so hard to protect was now in danger. This time the threat was not from the external but internal—the weakness of America's leadership was now endangering the American promise. Instead of striving for secure borders, energy independence, fiscal responsibility, Politicians were undermining American security. Swamp politicians prefer to import energy from Russia, defund our police, let the cartels freely cross the southern border, and weaken America's position on the global stage.

Remember the timeless saying that "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" Clint decided it was time to do something. After careful exploration of how he could best serve his fellow Oklahoman, Clint has decided to run for U.S. Congress. He will fight for Oklahoma values and secure the American Promise for the next generation.
